Practicing a Missionary Church topic 2026

I’m thrilled to be teaching, Practicing a Missionary Church with Pilgrim Theology College/University of Divinity in the second half of 2026. I’m co-teaching with Rev Sandy Brodine. Sandy is the Younger Generations Education and Strategy Coordinator for the Uniting Church Synod of Victoria and Tasmania and has extensive experience as a minister, educator and missional communities innovator. We are both fairly creative (hence my playful face in the picture!) and so there will be a fair bit of interactivity and online exploration.

It’s been a few years since I was involved in an entire mission topic. In the last 5 years, I’ve done plenty of one-off lectures and made guest contributions to mission and innovation classes in USA, Hong Kong, Scotland, Australia and I’m really looking forward to building connections in shared learning over an extended period of time.

In preparation, Sandy and I shared a podcast, chatting for 30 minutes about our upbringing and experiences in various things missional.  It’s here, for those interested (Practicing a Missional Church).

Practicing a Missionary Church starts Wednesday 29 July and runs through to 27 October, 2026. It’s online (but synchronous) and can done done for audit or credit. If you’re interested, contact Pilgrim Theology College.
